As soon as designer & professional dog walker Claudia Nunez’s feet touched New York City’s sidewalks (with dozens of paws in tow), her years of training as a haute couturier in Argentina caught up with her.

Nunez found herself in the capital of American chic, teeming with pet amenities but lacking the vibrant splash of color that characterized her upbringing in Cuba where Nunez, her mother and sister joyfully tended seven rescue dogs, three cats and a turtle under one roof.

Claudia plied her seamstress’ skills and entrepreneurial acumen. In the wag of a tail, a lucky handful of clients’ pooches’ were decked out in her buzzworthy weather-appropriate creations.

Nunez’s head-turning line of top dog attire takes its name from two beloved rescue doggies - a chihuahua and terrier mix- who found love back in Cuba: Mancha & Lola.
